Arcanum was founded in 1998 in Great Falls, Montana and is affiliated with firms in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and London.

Our senior buyer has over 48 years of experience in the jewelry appraisal profession and holds an academic Master’s degree in Valuation (appraisal) Science from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO. He is also a Graduate Gemologist (GIA) of the Gemological Institute of America (the national training school for the jewelry industry); a graduate of Christie’s Fine and Decorative Arts in London, England; a Charter Senior Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers; and a 36 year member of the British Society of Jewellery Historians. In addition, he has earned in the past the titles of Registered Jeweler, Certified Gemologist and Certified Gemologist Appraiser from the American Gem Society.
