The center of the pendant contains one tube bezel set transparent dark cornflower blue, heart shape cut, natural and untreated genuine Montana Yogo Sapphire from the mine near Utica. It weighs approximately 0.73 carat (or ¾ carat). The Yogo measures approximately 5.90 mm x 5.70 mm in diameter x 3.02 mm deep. The clarity is a VVS2 and sapphires are a Type II clarity gemstone.

Yogo sapphires are considered to be one of the world’s premier and highly desired sapphires. Only a Kashmir sapphire is considered finer. Due to sporadic mining over the years, fine Yogos are almost as rare as hen’s teeth. The estate market remains one of the few consistent sources of fine quality Yogos in today’s market. This estate pendant is from the 1990’s.

The Yogo has a pierced heart shape diamond surround in 14k yellow gold to mirror the cut of the gemstone. It contains approximately twenty two (22) graduated, hand bead and bright cut set, round full brilliant cut diamond melee for an approximate total diamond weight of 0.40 carats. These bright and lively diamonds are approximately G to H in color (i.e. near colorless), and VS2 to SI1 in clarity (i.e. they face up completely eye clean).

The 14k yellow gold heart shape pendant measures approximately 16.20 mm x 13.45 mm long by 20.21 mm wide by 3.30 mm x 3.00 mm x 2.20 mm x 1.50 mm deep.

The Yogo and diamond pendant is suspended on a split 14k yellow gold flat curb chain and secured by a 14k yellow gold spring ring clasp. The chain measures approximately 16 inches long x 1.80 mm wide x 0.80 mm deep. If you prefer a fancier chain, it can easily be changed to your taste by any jeweler. The total combined weight of both the pendant and chain is approximately 4.10 pennyweight. The overall condition of both the pendant and chain is very good. The piece looks brand new.
