The pieced pendant is suspended from, and attached to, a 14k rose gold split cable chain measuring approximately 1.10 mm in diameter by 16 inches long, with a 14k rose gold spring ring clasp.
This Montana sapphire has the color and look of a Montana Yogo sapphire. However, unlike the Yogo, this Montana sapphire has been heat treated to improve it's color to the same cornflower blue that is naturally found in Montana Yogos. Heat treating Montana sapphires (from locations other than the Montana Yogo mine) is a common and accepted practice for those Montana sapphires found near Helena or in the Sapphire Mountains near Missoula.
